Prominence development

One of the major attractions of solar observing is that things change over a short time-scale.Some time ago I posted a sequence of images and a  time-lapse movie of a sunspot:

I thought I would try to do the same thing for prominences. The Sun yesterday looked like this:

I managed to get 6 images over a period of about 4 hours.

Here they are, rotated for convenience:

I also “blew-up” one of the prominences:

I then created time-lapse movies of these sequences. The movies play 10 times:

  1. Odd. I deliberately saved them as .mp4 – the same as I did previously and the same as Ed’s fireball movie. Can’t quite think how else to save them.
