Astronomy on a damp Saturday afternoon!

Full marks to Andy for his observing enthusiasm on Friday night – – – !

Inspired by this but not wanting to get cold and wet, I had a look through my image archive for some of the objects he observed in Ursa Major. They date back a few years, but one of the joys of digital astronomy is the ability to reprocess old data. Especially when over the passage of time you learn and develop improved processing methods. In particular, I have come up with a workflow to get rid of those irritating dark halos in the PD camera images. So here are a selection of reprocessed DSOs from Ursa Major.

M81, M82, M97, M101, M108 and NGC4051
